EverEdge Flexible steel garden edging is a versatile and durable material that can transform your garden by creating defined borders and pathways. With its sleek and modern design, it adds a professional and polished look to any outdoor space. By separating different areas of your garden, such as flower beds and lawns, it helps to maintain a neat and organised appearance. Steel garden landscape edging also helps to prevent grass and weeds from spreading into unwanted areas, making maintenance much easier. Overall, EverEdge garden bed edging is a great investment for any gardener looking to elevate their outdoor space!
EverEdge garden edging is extremely flexible and will easily curve to virtually any radius or angle. To make a curve simply bend the section either freehand or around a form or tyre. To make an angle first make a line across the point where the section needs to be bent then form the angle using any sharp right angle (ie another piece of the EverEdge, some timber, the edge of a table, vice or workbench)
EverEdge garden edging comes in 3 depths: 75mm, 100mm and 125mm. This excludes the spikes which are 95 mm or 100 mm depending on the length of the EverEdge. We recommend that you bury the EverEdge to the very top of the spike (15mm into the edge face). If you have an edge which is not equal to the sizes we supply, say 50mm, simply knock the 75mm EverEdge deeper until you have the correct depth.
Cutting EverEdge is no problem either with a grinder or a hacksaw. The best way to lose any extra material is to lap it behind where you started (if possible) or where you are not returning to the start point put a 90° bend and lose the extra along a wall, bank, flower bed etc. This will also add extra strength at the end of the edging run.
The top of the EverEdge should never be proud of the lawn if you are planning to mow over the edge. Ensure that the edging top is level with the top of the turf, just below the cut height of the grass. This is indicated in our installation guide when you buy EverEdge.
EverEdge garden Edging is manufactured from galvanised mild steel, with a rust-resistant powder coated finish. Once installed EverEdge is maintenance-free and will last for generations.
Cor-Ten garden edging will not arrive on site already with the rusty patina, instead they will be a dull blue steel. Depending on conditions, the Cor-Ten will take between 3-6 months to go fully rusty but can continue to change over a 12 month period.
As a general rule we recommend installing EverEdge so that the top of the edging is level with the turf. So not proud. However, in some installations it is desirable to have the edging showing. CorTen and Galvanised (unpainted) edging can be quite sharp so, if the edging will be installed proud, these finishes are not recommend for homes with dogs or small children.
In very soft ground, or in clay, simply treading on the edge or the weight of a mower will push the edge into the soil. To prevent this, place a piece of broken flat tile or brick under each joint or anywhere along the edging. Using the Pin & Sleeve system may also help to anchor and support the edging.
Controlling grass runners is a daily problem in most NZ gardens. EverEdge garden edging is very effective in preventing grass runners from spreading into parts of the garden where they are not welcome.
